1999 pontiac montana van not staying started

Postby amber » Wed Apr 19, 2017 2:30 pm

my van died after putting gas in it, now it wont start again, it turns over and tries to start but dies, I got two OBDII codes both for the fuel tank pressure sensor, does this mean that it is bad, or can my fuel pump or fuel filter or something else that is connected somehow to the FTP sensor be the issue?

I would help to know the code numbers, also let us know when the codes appeared - only after the not running or maybe a while before current issue.

This will be a basic trouble shoot,1st looking at those codes, then it is checking for fuel pressure, spark etc.

My experience is fuel pumps often fail at refueling - making the pump replacement just a little more 'enjoyable' ;).
Some ideas and a hail mary.... sometimes a good bump at fuel tank .with fist or rubber mallet will jar the pump enough to restart BUT the pump is obviously failed and this is last start.
