Description: The BR-3 OBD-II Scan Tool supports VPW, PWM, and ISO protocols

Description:
An interface between your personal computer and your vehicle's OBDII diagnostic bus. The hardware and software comprise a system which will read most standard OBDII data, as well as diagnostic trouble codes. The interface supports three OBDII protocols commonly used in US vehicles: VPW (General Motors), PWM (Ford), and ISO9141 (Chrysler, Asian, and European), and ISO 14230 protocol (also called Keyword 2000).

It does not support the CAN (ISO 15765) interface. Some newer vehicles use the CAN interface.
Check Equipment and Tool Institute to see if your vehice is CAN (ISO 15765)

It does not support older OBD-1 vehicles or any vehicles earlier than 1996 models.
