This versatile scan tool works well and is a good value. Support from the manufacturer has been great. It supports all protocols in a single compact unit. The serial interface on the PC side allows it to work with Palm and PocketPC PDAs. (A USB interface might sound good, but can only be used with a PC.) It is compatible with virtually all the existing Elm-based software. Software that doesn't officially support the Elm327 still works minus the CAN protocol. Some of the free software available is not too great, but it's certainly adequate to get you started. Several good pieces of commercial sofware are available if you are willing to spend some extra money. Here is a good list of available software: http://scantool.imechatronics.com/downloads.htm

Bob from OBD2AllInOne sent me this unit to review. I chose to operate it with the ScanTool.net software. I must say the OBD2AllInOne unit was so easy to use. I’ve used other products in the past where I had to pick the OBD protocol, but the OBD2AllInOne unit auto-detects the protocol. That’s a nice feature. I also like that you can use whatever software you want. There are a number of free software packages that will work with this unit.
Although I didn’t have any trouble codes at the time when I tested it on my 2001 Ford F-150, it did an excellent job of providing real-time data on the O2 sensors and much more. Overall I’m very pleased with the product. I’d give it a 10 out of 10. I had no problems whatsoever. I just wish I had a CAN vehicle to test it on ;-)
Oh, and my next comment isn’t related to the product, but rather the company. I was pleased to see that the company offers a 100% money back guarantee for 15 days, plus since it’s a real company, they have their full contact information listed on every web page. All to often when you’re dealing with web-based companies it’s hard to find contact information, especially a phone number. Good job guys!
