Here is my problem. When I am driving my 2001 nissian maxima it suddenly stops driving...another words I find my self gunning the engine but the car is not going anywhere if I pull over for a few minutes and turn off engine then restart it it works for awhile but will do it again. The above are the trouble codes I get. I went to autozone and he retrieved these codes. I just took it out of the mechanics shop but the problem is still there. They replace an airflow sensor...why I don't know. If I find out later it had nothing to do with my problem ..we are heading to court. I explain to him what I just explained here. Another words seems like someone puts the car into nuetral when this happens. They wanted to keep the car longer to replace another sensor but they couldn't promise the problem will be taken care of. Two questions has any body had this problem before and any solutions. 2nd what is the purpose of an airflow sensor. Can anybody help.

The P0720 is a transmission code (sorry...I couldn't find a complete code description).

Take it to the dealer or a good tranny shop.

P0430 is saying that the catalytic converter on Bank 2 may be shot.

Your mechanic may have changed an O2 sensor. One O2 sensor (upstream) monitors the amount of oxygen in the exhaust and the other (downstream) monitors the efficiency of the cat.

Your description of an "airflow sensor" is kind of fuzzy.

The tranny issue is more important at this time and should be fixed ASAP before you fry the tranny.

Thanks...Its going into the shop. Today I will be replacing the speed sensor.

! question what does a Mass Air flow Meter do. Do you think it has something to do with my original car problem..I am confused why the mechanic changed this out...it cost me $500 used? parts and labor.

First of all, don't come on this site talking about taking your mechanic to court and expect us to help you. I just lost interest. This is run and operated by techs. We don't have any interest in your dirty laundry and there are always two sides to every story. ALWAYS.

Hey...Darkrooms.. don't take me wrong buster I am just mad if they changed out a wrong expensive sensor, I didn't asked for the bad part..should off but didn't would had it tested else where to confirm...there are mechanics out there that will take advantage on other people don't get upset. I really appreciate this site...but I don't appreciate your comments.

P>S How would u act if someone took u 4 a ride. I am Human...pissed off at the moment. End of Conversation. We'll let Judge Judi decide. thanks!
