I have a 02 isuzu rodeo with the V6 in it. It will just die sometimes. the tach just falls real fast and some times it will catch it.

Last week we were coming to the top of a hill and just as I went over I let off the gas and the car shifted and went into power mgt mode. the other codes that were in the computer P1125 & P1295.

I have replaced the throttle body with one from lkq didn't die as much but had a high idle and didn't want to stop. next I replaced the throttle position sensor on the old throttle body and tried that. Ran nice for 1 day and started the same problem again and did the same thing on the hill, same exact spot on the hill to. (weird)

I need Help,

Thank You

Do you know the definitions of the codes for starters?

So it did it again. this time the codes are

P1299 ETC Forced engine shutdown
P1125 ETC Limit perf mode
P1275 ETC power mgt mode
P1515 Command actual tps correlation error

What are the chances that the maf sensors is bad? or does this sound more like a short in the wire harness.

It only has 75K on it. My chev s10 has a 158 K runs great still passes smog.

It's possible but other things like vaccum leaks, egr operation should be checked as well! What size engine? Isn't the Isuzu's the same as a Gm truck from those years, If the MAF's between your 2 trucks are identical maybe swap them out

The isuzu has the V6 with the on the fly throttle and my s10 has a 4 cylinder with a cable throttle like a vehicle should be built.

Pretty common problem with this model. I just repaired one yesterday with the excact same problem. More than likely you have a broke wire from the throttle body to the ECM. You can either get a new harness or overlay new wires from the throttle body to the ECM. You can email me and it will give you the pin numbers at both locations and wire colors and how to check. You can only find the fault as long as the reduced power light is on if is not on it will be difficult to find.

Maybe if the harness is moving under a certain articulation of the engine in the mounts that's why the code is coming up on the same hill at the same time! Wouldn't be the first time I've seen engine movement pull a harness open!
