I am working on a 2008 Dodge caliber and It will not start or crank. This car has a 2.0L engine with the CVT transmission. If you turn the key it will not crank, i know the starter is good because if you manually jump the starter the engine will crank. The car is displaying a p0700 code (transmission controller failure).

my question is this: if the ECM knows there is a problem with the transmission will it prevent the engine from even cranking? Or are the two issues unrelated? additionally, this car is also displaying two 'undetermined' codes B2AAA and B2A000

Thanks in advance, any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

What scan tool are you using? Is the WIN module on line, without it the car won't crank, Your transmission fault could be related. Is this your own car or a customers? No warranty remaining on it?
