I have a 2001 Toyota Camry 4cyl and recently ck eng light came on. The obdII code was p1135 which indicated a/f sensor(O2) bank 1/sensor 1. Disc sensor and took ohm reading, result was O. I replaced O2 with new one,ohm reading was 0.4. Hooked sensor back up,cleared code and shut light. When I started the engine light was out but after a minute it came back on.Rechecked O2 with same results and then checked female connector end with key on and eng off, slots where black leads go read 8 volts one side and 50+ on the other. The other two slots read 14 and 16 respectfully. could the female connector be bad or is this much deeper?
Where did you purchase your new 02 sensor? On toyota it's possible you installed the wrong 02 sensor, ie instead of a wide band you instaleld a conventional 02 or vice versa
I tried both types and code keeps comming back. With the widband 02 the car runs a lot better, so I would figure that was the type originally installed. The car has 116,000 miles on it if thats any help.
No, I bought it at the auto parts store I work at. I think the sensor that was in the box was wrong. Another employee cross referenced the toyota p/n and it came up as denso 234-9010,which was what I installed. We then pulled the sensor and matched it to the image from the comp and it was nothing like the one I installed. We ordered another 234-9010 and should have it in the morning delivery.
I've seen lots of reoccuring 02 sensor issues and likewise when using aftermarket 02's? Was Denso the original manufacturer of the original part? if not then I'd be sketchy of using it.
The old o2 says toyota and gives p/n,but in small letters it says denso. the new o2 I rec today was the correct one(first 234-9010 mispacked) and after installing it the code cleared and light went out. It has been fine so far,I will be satisfied after my trip this evening. Thank you for your input Jeff I really appreciated it.
Having the same issue with my 2000 camry. code came up P1135. The Air/Fuel sensor (Denso part 234-9010) is the sensor that I find right in the front of the engine, on the exhaust, just behind the fan. Other posts I have read seem to say that there is a "passenger side" sensor...Before spending the $$$, I want to make sure I'm replacing the right one... Any ideas?
If it's a v style engine and uses 2 upstream 02's I'd always recommend replacing both. They do get sluggsih without generating a fault and if 1 is bad the other is as old so in time it can fail as well.
