Engine MIL light came on a few days ago, car is a 2004 Totota RAV4 2.0 VVTi petrol (UK model), and with light illuminated the car continued driving with no noticeable change in performance. The following day the light went off, and I continued my long journey home with no further re-occurance. Arrived home and connected code-reader, and stored code P2238 (O2 Sensor Positive Current Control Circuit Low Bank1 Sensor1) is displayed. Anyone any idea what the cause is likely to be, and what the recommended course of action should be?? Is this indicating a terminal fault, or as the car appears to be driving OK should I just erase the code and see if it re-occurs?

Advice appreciated...

Regards,
Gary

Gary erase the code and see if it re-occurs
then take action
But what you could do is check wiring from the A/F sensor B1S1
for damage and check connector. these codes come when
the wiring gets a short or grounded could also be the sensor it self.
