 Post subject: 2002 vw jetta 1.8T code P2181

my check engine light came on a month ago so i went to pep boys and got the P2181 code and was told it had something to do with the coolent system, it doesnt overheat the temp remains at 190 and there are no leaks, took it to a mechanic and he didnt see anything wrong, is there something he could have missed? helppppp i need to fix it fast and sell it!!1

I think its related to the Thermostat. Check with scanner if have one, wait until engine reaches about 90degrees celcius(194F), go on the highway and check to see if temperature drops, should not drop more that a few degrees. If it does, thermostat is faulty, replace it.
