Hi, im new to the fourm and was wondering if i could get some help answering some questions. My car recently has been reading the P-1491 code. I got it read and it said it was the vacuum cut bypass valve. I was wondering if this was something i could fix myself and how much the part would cost to do so.

I had the same code on my 01 altima. At the time my engine was running hot due to a 180f thstat installed, when it should of been 170f. The 1491 code never came back after i put the lower rated tsat back in the engine.
Not sure if this helps or not.
The Bypass valve is located underneath the car at the left rear near the carbon canister.
Let me know what you find?!
