My vehicle is an Isuzu Axiom 2003 SUV. The engine has run sporadically on and off for literally years. I have had intake manifold gaskets replaced (3 in 5 yrs), catalytic conv., head gasket(s), etc. Much on warranty but now that the vehicle warranty has expired, it is getting expensive fast.
A month ago I had another intake manifold gasket replaced at the dealership off Harlem and I55. The day I drove it home, the truck was running poorly. Today, 45 days later, it is stalling, check engine/reduced power lights are on. Codes are p1125 p1221 p1295 p1515. I fear I am throwing more $$$ for nothing with these dealers who don't think, they just read a computer and start charging me. They say these codes are for a new wiring harness $1500. I just spent over $2000 in the last 6 months for the same issue(s)/symptoms with this vehicle and frankly am fed up with dealerships.
Furthermore, they say they can't guarantee the $1500 harness replacement will fix anything.
I am curious whether this dealership is diagnosing this correctly? Like most of us, I have only one vehicle and without it, without public transpo, and it being 15degF out, it is hard to get by...

Not that I am aware of. The work that has been done was:
intake manifold gasket head gasket catalytic converter pvc valve new fuel filter new air filter cleaning of fuel injectors
The codes in question and the definitions are: P1125 Isuzu Electronic Throttle Control Limit Performance Mode P1221 Isuzu Throttle Position Sensor 1-2 Circuit Performance P1295 Isuzu Electronic Throttle Control Power Management Mode P1515 Isuzu TP Sensor To MAF Sensor Correlation
Is there anything I can check on the vehicle myself? Connections to this throttle control or TPsensor?

Hello i just signed up on this site after reading your post last week before i brought my rodeo to the dealer with the same problems. i have since picked up my vehicle and could not be happier. my rodeo started running strangely after the check engine light came on and stayed on.(it would come on randomly then go out.)i took it to the dealer because i knew it needed a head because it was leaking coolant into one of the coil/spark plug tubes. they told me that the leak was external and my car was running poorly because my main engine wiring harness was dried and cracking. i picked up the vehicle and asked what codes were thrown, and they matched yours. when i returned the vehicle to have the wire harness replaced, they discovered the cracked head and replaced that and the harness together. now i have no check engine light and the car runs great. i hope that you have the work done and it fixes the problem. I live in Maine and my vehicle is an '02 rodeo but it cost me $1600 for the head, gaskets, harness, and labor. oh yea and an oil change. good luck.
