Hello, I had trouble code P1166 and P1167, went to the all-data program to get diagnostic aids for the codes. The first step was to clear the codes to verify if they were hard codes or intermitant. After clearing the codes the P1167 was gone which said code was intermitant, but the P1166 code came back, and of course the ck. engine light is back on. I ran through the rest of the All-data tests the best I could, backprobing some of the wires on the Ecm. were a pain to get to. I believe I need to change the #1 a/f sensor (o2) thats were my tests have led me. Expensive part, can anyone tell me if the o2 is the problem before I drop the coin. Thanks. :?

If you need more assurance then take it somewhere and have it cheked by someone who knows what they are doing. The code is for the heater circiut correct? Then get a ohm meter and check the resistence of the heater elemet in the sensor and see if it is in spec. it will probably read open. Some codes you can take to the bank as common pattern failures and some are not so easy. O2 or A/F heater codes are 98% of the time a bad sensor, and it's not uncommon on a import to have both heater circuits fail at the same time.
