try to figure what direction to look. the truck misses at idle, on the freeway i runs alot smooth but when shifts and the rpm's are lower the miss gets really bad. new plugs, also when you pull the wire for the number one cylinder i doesn't change the way it's running.

What engine does your truck have and how many miles are on it?

New spark plug wires would be my next step, you obviously have no spark to one, possibly two cylinders. As I recall, the plug wires on this engine are routed right next to some very hot engine parts. I would make sure they're not touching anything and getting burned.

Have you checked compression? Have replaced 2 sets of heads in the past week with valves sunk way into the heads. About the right mileage to need new heads on this engine anyway.
