This code is " Camshaft position sensor circuit, range or performace problem"
My Chiltons instructs me to check for power from the ECM which is good at 5V. Then I back probe the connector with the ignition on and rotate the crank shaft. The voltage is suppose to fluctuate between zero volts and 10.

???My question???

The voltage drops from 10 to zero as I rotate the crakshaft. Am I suppose to see a gradual fluctuation? I thought I would see a voltage representation of the degrres of the fywheel. like 0 deg= 0v, 90 deg=2.5v, 180=5v, 270=7.5v, and 360=10v.

If my ussumption is correct then my sensor is bad?

2000VW golf, 2.0 liter.

You're both right and wrong.

The voltage is suppose to drop from 10v to 0v. There is no "gradual fluctuation".

Chances are the sensor is bad and need replacement.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Here is how it all starded. The car stalled on the freeway and has not started since, except for when I cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner and it fired right up and died.
I got the following OBDII codes P0304, p0725, P1780 and P1850. I got the P0341 code after I had tried to start the car a few times.

I just wanted to besure I was testing the sensor correctly.

I'm at a loss and it's probably dealer time.

Thanks for your help.
