Can't offer any help on engine running problem, but from what I read, this code actually deals with cars Climate Control and should not affect how your engine runs. "The Solar sensors are located around the front windshield deflectors," not sure if this makes any sense, its a translation.

I have the same problem on my 04 Toyota Sienna. The manual states that if you did the test on a dark place, B1421 Solar Sensor Circiut could be displayed. If not check the harness between automatic light control sensor and the A/C amplifier or check the solar sensor or the A/C amplifier......hope this help!
