Hi, my 2001 Hyudai Accent GSI (1.6L, std, no air) has its MIL (check engine) light on. When scanned, it indicates there are no trouble codes, and that the MIL is off.

The car seems to run fine, and dont seem to note any other problems.

Anyone have the same problem, or some idea of why the MIL is on?

I have d/c the battery, and the MIL goes out, but comes back on after the car has run for awhile.

Cheers!

Have them check your mass air flow sensor. I have a 2001 Accent as well and had the same problem. I was told delaying repair wouldn't affect the performance of the car, but would make the clutch more sensitive when starting from a stopped position. Since I've had mine replaced I've noticed the car runs a lot smoother.

Hope this helps
