Check engine light came on. A friend read the code and reset. A month goes by and the CEL is on again. Car runs the same now as always. What is the fix(es) for a P0420 code on the above vehicle? Steve

No other issues?
1) need to work this by observing the 'o2 sensor' readings, esp shifting of the post cat sensor.

2) checking cat effeciency a possiable failed cat.
