A few things you can check
1 Fuel pressure
2 Check for codes
3 IAC idle control valve

I have encountered the same problem with the same vehicle, same approximate mileage, same motor. Im still struggling with finding the answer so if you get any ideas or a solution, please let me know.

One day I went to the grocery store, and when I came out, it didnt want to start.
After letting it sit for maybe an hour, it cranked up, but when i put it into gear, it cut off. Periodically, it would start up, and idle fine, even redline upon reving. But as soon as I put it into gear, it cuts off.
I have checked and can confirm that the car is recieving proper fuel pressure, and consistent spark. When I did get it running, I was able to pull the code p0171, which led me to change the MAF sensor, but with no prevail over rectifying the situation. I was told to check the Idle Air Control sensor, the coolant temperature sensor, and the fuel pressure regulator.

If anyone has any answers please help!!

Did you remove and check the throttle body this tends to gunk up and restrict the IAC when you get the Throttle body out remove the IAC and clean out all the gunk in the throttle body and IAC valve, replace and drive for ten min so the system can relearn the Idle.

I just read about your problem, I don't think you have an engine issue, it's enough knowing that the engine runs in park or reverse to be sure that there's not any problem on it. I saw problems like that in some Hyundais, what happens is that the TCC (Torque converter clutch) stays engaged due to a mal function on it or mostly on the solenoid that activates it; TCC is able to work in Drive, not in Park or Reverse, so this malfunction keeps the engine engaged with the Transmission and obviously tires too, when th tires are spinning the engine won't cut off, but when the tires are stopped it will.
