 Post subject: 1998 chevy cavalier P0446

I have a 98 cavalier and i get the p0446 code. i clear it and it stays off til around a half tank of fuel left. it doesnt seem to be hurting anything the car is still getting excellent fuel mileage I just was wondering if anyone knew anything about this problem. I have replaced the fuel cap and it didnt help

Chances are the EVAP vent valve/solenoid is shot.

However, before condemning the valve, check the circuit, connections and fuses.
