I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 truck with a 5.9 Liter V8 engine with well over 100,000 miles. I am getting a P0601 code that comes back even after clearing it.

I was wondering if anybody can give me the proper diagnosis steps to ensure that the PCM is actually the problem and not something else.

never seen it be anything else! Those trucks often have the pcm fail because of bad ignition coils so I'd suggest a new coil at the same time.

I have the same issue. Engine light came on shortly after my dealer replaced some bad rocker arms in engine. It runs fine but the light is annoying. I need to resolve it so I can pass a state inspection. Anyone know if the module is easy to replace?

Not hard to replace but will require reprogramming with a dealer or equal level scan tool to make it work.
