I have a 1998 Nissam Maxima with 110,000 miles. The knock sensor code has been popping up lately along with other codes. My code scanner has been able to turn off the malfunction light but it has been unable to erase the 2 occurrences of the P0325 code. To make matters worse, the car failed the smog test because of the MIL codes. It's there any way to erase those codes without taking the car to the dealer? TIA.

Just because you erased the code and turned off the MIL, it doesn't mean you fixed the problem(s).

Check the knock sensor, connections and circuit.

What were the other codes?

Good luck and keep us posted.

The other code was P0120. I ordered the Knock sensor and I'll replace next week.

Throttle Position Sensor circuit.

TPS is essential for correct engine operation, check out the sensor, you should get a smooth resistance change with a DVOM. Best to use analogue or a scantool with graphical display to test this sensor. You could also have a bad circuit condition even if the sensor is good so check wiring.
