 Post subject: P0442 - 2001 Yukon XL

Location: Snellville, GA
I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL with a 5.3L V8. I checked the codes and P0442 was the only code that showed up. I read that there should not be any driveability problems, but the engine idles around 500 rpm and it sounds rough. The lights dim and the A/C, even when on high, stops blowing hard until the engine is revved. Any ideas?

test the battery and the alternator, sounds like less then 12 volts.
