Hey, I have a 98 Silverado with the 5.7 it has 122,000 miles on it, I am getting the mutiple cylinder misfire code, but I only get it when i mash the gas at higher speeds, could that be in my distributor or in the ignition module, or perhaps something else, also, I have noticed a small surge in my rpms when traveling at about 40-45 mph, could the problems be related? Thanks for your help in advance!!

I'd hook a fuel pressure gauge up to it and road test with the gauge taped to the windshied, I'd bet the pressure is too low! Either that or you have a vaccum leak, bad wires or dist cap, weak coil, plugged converter

etc
