My car failed it's emissions inspection.
they supplied me the code P0441. I'm sure most are aware of this code and what it means.
I replaced the cannister purge solenoid. This part -

Is there a separate cannister purge solenoid from a cannister purge valve solenoid?
http://www.diypartscatalog.com/item.wws ... S&weight=1http://www.diypartscatalog.com/ShopByVe ... ch&mode=PAIf so where is this located?
Also I checked the can behind the driver side rear bumper in the fender well. The lines are both attached to the can. But on one of them I observed about 3 inched of oily liquid on the line leading to the motor. This 8" long hose that connects the can to the line to the motor although attached was not very secure. I removed it easily with a single hand.
What are the chances that replacing this hose corrects my problem? I assume the oily liquid is indicative of a leak. Would this trip the p0441 error code that turns on the service engine soon light and caused my car to fail inspection?
