Trying to figure out what to do for the error code P0506 - Idle Control System RPM Lower Than Expected. Can't seem to find a website that can tell me WHAT to do - all just tell me what the code is.
Two days after replacing the alternator and battery, the truck starts slight erratic idling, sometimes to the point of stalling.
Any help?

Check for a vaccum leak, clean the throttle body and iac valve and passages.

Use a haynes or chiltons manual or do a search online for the replacement part, it'll likely show you a picture of it and then you just match it up under the hood. It's not likely bad just probably carbonned up or fighting a vaccum leak. Have you cleanned the throttle body and ports yet? I think there is link from this site to one on Ford trucks that's the SM is quite fond of. It may have more posts and pics
