I replaced the plugs and wires about a month ago.
Thanks

Did the codes appear after the new plugs/wires were installed? What about new Dist. cap and rotor?

Did you use quality parts?

Check for vacuum leaks (including manifold gaskets) on Bank 1 (Driver's side).

Also swap Cyl.#5 injector with another cylinder and see if the misfire code changes.

Are you sure #5 plug is firing?

Good luck and keep us posted.

The codes appeared about a few months after i replaced the plug and wires. I replaced the coil packs.

I used quaitly plugs and wire.

I am sure that plug #5 is firing.

Could this be caused by a bad catalyic converter?

I have a lot of water coming out of the tail pipe.

Thanks for the info.
Jesse

It's possible the cat may be restricted, but I would first swap #5 injector with another cylinder and check for vacuum leaks.

A plugged cat/exhaust system will not set a P0171.
