Saturday when I was driving my 1999 Dodge Durango it started surging noticeably. I was driving on interstate at around 65 MPH when the vehicle would rev up a couple hundred RPMs and the check engine light came on. Monday when I drove it to work, the check engine light went off.
Tuesday I hooked it up to a code reader and had two codes, P0202 and P0207, for the number 2 and number 7 injector circuits.
Searching previous searches, I noticed that Jeff Compton recommended changing the TPS (95% of the time it is this and 5% of the time it is the wiring, according to the post). If the TPS is bad, shouldn't the code for the TPS be set (P0123)?

The vehicle is a 4 X 4 with the 5.2 L engine.

It's very rare for a tps on a dodge to actually throw a tps fault. Weird I know but when it does it's often the wiring to it or the map sensor! There's alot of tips online about the tps throwing those injectors faults because of electrical "noise" on it's circuits! A good rule of thumb is if the truck runs reasonably well then it's not normally an injector circuit issue! If it was it would normally miss, run rough etc because it's either not injecting or shortting and injecting when it shouldn't. a good scan tool will catch the tps reading as high as 5% at idle with your foot off the throttle. That's not good! I've seen alot of guys replace harnesses, injectors modules etc because they didn't catch the tps or believe it. Use only a dealer part on it by the way!
