Hi,
My daughter called this morning and said her jeep was running really rough, and her service engine light was on. I went and got it, took it and had the code checked. It was the p0132. I have read several posts on here already concrening this issue. I have the front sensor out and a multi meter ready to go, but I'm still not sure what I am looking for. She did park in a rough area last night at the ball game. I have checked all the wiring visually back to the point where I would really have to start tearing into the main trunk of the harness no problems that I can see. Any further info on checking the sensor or the wiring with the tester would be greatly appreciated. :?

It's probably just the 02 sensor, get a new one from the dealer and install it alll should be good! Check if it has a blown fuse that says 02 but it's 95% of the time just a sensor, it's old enough and will proabbly help the mileage.

Thanks Jeff,
I was going to try that today but thought if I could test it to be sure I would first. I may have to wait until tommorrow to get one from the dealer. Today is easter.
Just for future info tho, if you had a fouled plug or bad plug wire and were having misfires, is this the code that you would get back from a good sensor doing it's job? I mean it seems if you were exhausting unburned fuel, it would make your exhaust to rich.

No not really? do you have misfires? An 02 that is stuck can drive the fuel trims to an extreme and throw a system lean or rich dtc and It could cause a misfire. The misfire monitor, the fuel trim monitor, The catalyst monitor, the egr monitor, etc all use the 02 for input back to the pcm but the misfire monitor uses crank speed variance to determine offending misfiring cylinders. So in a nutshell a misfire could throw a fuel trim or even an 02 dtc if it was misfiring enough but most of the time it would flag the offending cylinder misifre and probably start to switch normally once the unburned fuel was burnt off and the temps returned to normal meaning you may not require an 02 after repairring the cause of the 02's readings assuming the 02 is in fact able to switch fast enough. Some aftermarket brands don't switch fast enough and heat up enough to satisy the pcm requirements and cause the codes to return even when the parts are new. A bad upstream 02 can often cause a rough idle, hesitation, etc.

HTH
