We have a 2003 Subaru Forester 2.5L Automatic 105,000km with no modifications, performance seems a little down particularily on hill climbing at lower speeds.

We have codes P0030 and P0030P.
The P0030 is Heater control circuit low HO2S Bank 1 Sensor 1. What does this mean
and what is the fix.

Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks

The first code is a "hard" code and the second is a "pending" code for the upstream heated oxygen sensor.

This sensor is located in the exhaust between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter.

"Upstream" means that it's located in front (upstream) of the cat. There is also one located behind (downstream) of the cat as well.

95% of the time, replacing the upstream O2 sensor will fix the problem.

Just make sure you get the new one from the dealer...aftermarket ones may not work.
