Hello, I have been having some rough starting, rough idle and stalling issues. I have printed off the P0172 page and started to replace items.

Two weeks agao I got MAP codes. 1. So I replaced the MAP.
It still had a stalling issue/rough idle. 2. So I changed the Idle control, PCV, cleaned my air filter (K&N) and cleaned the Throttle body.

The car ran fine for two weeks. Saturday I was at a stop light when the light turned green I pressed on the XLR8R and it stalled again.

I am on my way to the store to purchase a dry air filer and some electrical cleaner as per the P0172 symptoms page. Does any one else have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

I am pretty much guessing that you have a vacuum leak problem. Check and replace if need it the vacuum hoses. There are not many, so is not hard to do nor too expensive to replace either.

I will recheck the vac lines again. I did a quick once over when I put everything back together a couple weeks ago.

I am getting ready to go out and change the air filter, front O2 sensor and the Fuel pressure regulator as well so hopefully I am on to something.

Thanks!

Make sure the Brake Booster hose is not leaking too. Check on the Airbox intake is not obstructed. These cars comes with a "Cold Intake'. that leads to the outside of the car. Juts because looks OEM Ugly does not means that is a bad design

No Vac leaks.

So I changed the Fuel pressure reg, front O2 sensor and cleaned the MAF sensor.

While removing the MAF I noticed that the silicone seal is not sealed properly. I found in another thread that this was an issue a guy had and replacing it fixed his problem. I just replaced this sensor 4 mo. ago so I am taking it back now and see what happens from here.

I found another article that states if the problem does consist that my next steps are to change the injectors and if continues change the control mod. Any truth to that?
Thanks again.

P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem

P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input

Take the sensor plug and a multimeter. Check the cable connection from the connector to the main plug harness. To make sure there is not a broken wire.

Or get a code scanner that reads real time data and run the engine, see what the sensors reads and kind of wiggle the wiring around to see if anything changes. I found 2 broken wires like that on a 01 3.4 L Grand Am.
