 Post subject: 2000 honda passport po401 code

I need to pass smog in the next few days. is there a way to bypass or quickfix the egr. po401 code to keep my check engine light from coming on.

You could clear the code and hope it does not come back on before you get there. But if they check for emission monitors it will do you no good. Or you could remove the throttle body and in the intake about 3 inches in you will see a tube thats is probably stopped up with carbon. Once you clean this out it should take care of your problem for good.
