Good morning all, great forum, I have a 2002 grand prix with the 3.8 engine...I had the cat changed with a A/M, they welded the new cat on ..ran ok for a while, the sound was a bit louder and now I get codes p0137 and p0420, in reading the threads..should I check for leaks and change the o2 sensor after the cat....
Thanks for your help..

With the P0137 you can look at that first, could of been damaged during converter replacement. I would be better if you could get some data to see what the O2's are reading. I dont like aftermarket converters esp. if they have to be welded in. They just dont work.

You'll need to gain access to an good quality analyzer, one with a screen. The O2 sensor test screen data will look like the screen shot in this post....

Best if you know the spec range for the O2 sensor for this vehicle to be able to make a comparison. Some top end analyzers have that data range programmed into them already.
