 Post subject: 99 Mercury Villager P0340

I am getting frusterated! I get a P0340 code stating camshaft position sensor but yet when I call to find this part, I get told there isnt one! Any suggestions???

It's because there isn't 1! same idea as the Saturns! It means the car's timing is off or it's misfiring! Might be something in the forums about this on those cars in otherwise take it to a good tech!

this does not have a cam sensor like most cars it is in the distributor...9 times out of 10 the distributor is bad...pretty common.

i have came to the conclusion, that i believe i need a new distributor. Of course, couldnt of been something cheap right..lol
