Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer [/i][/b]

An inaccurate map sensor reading can cause misfires, I'd recommend repairring the map sensor problem first, clear the codes and then reinvestigate the remainder, unless the plug wires are visually failled like cross arcing or damaged and the plugs are wet or worn etc then maybe start there first, lots of options on this one

Keep us postted

Jeff

yes well the car has 82,000 miles and i don't think the plugs were changed if at all in at least 50,000 miles. so i am going to change the plugs and wires and clean the mass air flow sensor and see what happens then if that doesn't work i will try the map sensor as well. thanks for your help i will keep you posted saturday and let you what happens.

I CHANGED THE FRONT PLUGS AND WIRES TODAY DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO DO BACK YET. BUT I DID THAT AND CLEARED THE CODES AND THE P0106 WENT AWAY AND NOE I HAVE A P0171 CODE AND THE P0300 THAT I HADE BEFORE. SO I AM GOING TO CLEAN THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR TOMMOROW AND SEE IF THAT WORKS. THIS IS A REAL PAIN TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT!!!!!!
