Hi group -

I have a 1996 Sonoma that was a forner NAPA delivery truck that I have recently purchased form a private owner. I have a P0440 code and am having trouble finding the problem. As I have read in other posts, I am currently checking the filler neck for a crack, and will be looking for the two wire harness to see if the wires are damaged.

First question - where is the evap canister, wire harness, etc. located? I haven't yet been able to purchase a Haynes Manual, so I'm really without guidance here.

Second question - if it's NOT the filler neck or the harness, are there any other suggestions?

I'm hoping you can help, I'm running out of days for my temporary inspection here in Western NY.

Thanks.

Jeff Martin

P.S. - Check for an additional post regarding the automatic transmission not shifting out of second gear.

Thanks again!

Jeff

A good manual will answer all your questions with that truck. By the sounds of it it'll be an excellent investtment
