Im assuming you mean the engine will crank, but not start. If so, you need to find out what you're missing. Check for spark and pulse width and proper fuel pressure. Are they present?

Thanks for your response Darkroooms. Disco'd discharge of Fuel filter (last component before engine) and am getting good fuel supply. Towed it (man. trans. hehe) to assist start and it started and ran normally except it had no idle.would die. Son reports white smoke from tail pipe. Now I have no check engine light and no codes (still) Engine has 150 k on it so have resisted buying service manual. Duh. There is an (to date) unidentified component (solenoid operated) attached to the air intake body that is making a slight noise w/ ignition on and is getting very warm to the touch. Am trying to identify it online, but I think I should pony up and get some kind of a manual (duh)
