Where do I get the factory specs to check knock sensor? 1986 Ford Ranger. 2.9L V6. Getting p0325 code. Engine dies at idle until it warms up, then runs okay but occasinally it hesitates pretty bad.

To test the knock sensor: It should be a one wire sensor. Simply unplug the sensor and test for 5 volts at the wire. PLug it in and see if the voltage remains 5V. If not the knock sensor may be bad and informing the computer of a knock affecting timning when there isn't one. Start there. This is all from memory, since Im at home and don't have my info here but I hope it helps.
