Check engine light is on. Comes up with a PO128.

-Engine revving at stop lights and stalling on occasion when I'm at a low speed.
-Noticed the other day that the fan isn't coming on at all.

Replaced the thermostat and replacing the sensor tonight.

Do anyone feel the revving has anything to do with the thermostat/sensor/fan situation?

Thanks so much,
Sharon

The revving and fan issues may or may not be related to the code.
Usually it's the stat or the sensor, because the code refers to the engine not warming up fast enough in a given time period. So replacing those is a good start. If the stalling continues, post back. I'd get that fan situation checked out immediately. You don't want to inadvertently overheat your engine.

unless it's a coolant flow problem through the throttle body like the old talons had! when they were low in coolant they'd surge!

Funny you say that....About 6 months back and before I was having to refill coolant about every 2 to 3 months. Now, I haven't had to fill. Previously had to refill 3 or 4 times. Never noticed a puddle under the car.

Maybe you should check your coolant level just in case. If you're having to refill your coolant every few months and there's no puddle, you may have a serious problem developing. Couple that with a inoperative fan and....I think you see where Im going with this.

Hey there,

Well what concerns me is that I haven't had to refill for 6 months when I was doing it every 2 months. Seems wierd how now all of a sudden it doesn't need filling.

Also, unfortunately I don't know where you're going with it. I'm an amateur and find this a little interesting because I'm frugal as h*ll. Can you spell it out for me?

In addition, I guess we're saying there may be a "clog" or something? How could I check that?

Thank you so much for your help,
Sharon

Not a clog, but there's numerous possibilities with your symptoms, but in my mind, I'd check your coolant level and see where it is. Check the reservoir too and see where it is. Is it empty? if so, there's likely a leak or the engine is consuming the coolant. I'd forget what it WAS doing and concentrate on what it IS doing. So, first, check coolant level. If it's low it's likely that it was causing the revving situation. Now, where I was going..., well, an inoperative fan could cause overheating issues which can lead to head gasket issues which can cause coolant consumption and low coolant, and low coolant can cause revving, P0128, etc.
