Symptoms: After car is warmed up(fine when cold) it will stall while stopped and misfires while driving.

I had an auto parts store do a quick check for any fault codes. They said there was a knock sensor fault code. I hope to God it isn't a faulty knock sensor. It's about a $1000 repair. Is there anything else I should look for? I've looked for vacuum leaks, egr looks ok. The check engine light is not on, but my wife said it did come on one day. I have read that a faulty knock sensor will not cause my symptoms. I will check the wiring, and ohm out the sensor(anyone know the correct ohm readings?) I was just wondering if there is something else I can look for that would cause the symptoms I am having and cause the knock sensor fault code.

knock sensor dtcs are very common on nissans, often not the sensor. If you're thinking of trying a sensor get the dealer one.

Thanks. I will get the Nissan part if needed. I definitely do not want to do the sensor if that's not the problem. I have a feeling it isn't because the symptoms don't match a faulty knock sensor. I'm just confused why such a dramatic problem of stalling when stopped and misfiring while driving isn't generating a fault code. Will an bad oxygen sensor cause this problem, bad tps, bad mass airflow sensor? If so wouldn't it generate a code?

nope. you can try the sensor or get a professional diagnostic done. the other parts you're talking about are a waste of time, knock sensors can be generated from misfires, incorrect timing etc
