1997 ford explorer 4.0 liter with code of P0446 - evaporative emission control - excessive fuel tank vacuum.Need some help on were to start ? I have a lay out of the sys & looks like pressure sensor is in the tank or on top of tank & fuel vapor valve also,thanks.

If you have not done so already, change the Fuel Cap!!!!! This was a problem on my sister's Exploder and once changed (Do not use a STANT, get a OEM from the Dealer) the problem never reared it's ugly head.

Another possibility is the Purge Valve may be stuck and non-operational but I would start with the Fuel Cap!!!
