At 99k mile the CEL came on and the code reported was P0402. I replaced the EGR valve and the light went out after a few cycles then re-illuminated about 10 days later. It is again reporting P0402. I read the article that recommends replacing the DPFE sensor if this occurs, however I am unable to locate such a part in my repair manuals. Does Chrysler call this something else?

I appreciate any information on what to check next.

Thanks in advance.

there is no dpfe sensor on any caravan for the egr, the whole assy
vacuum modulator and valve should always be replaced as a unit
if the code is still returning then you have a possible wiring problem to the
modulator connector, a missing or damaged gasket, blocked vaccum line
or passageway in the intake etc, can also be a software/ pcm problem
although very rare

good luck

let me know what you find
