Infiniti I30
Year 2000
Sedan
3.0L V6 MFI

I got the code P0300 and I am having problems trying to figure out the problem of this car. The car was tuned-up few weeks ago and I have checked spark plugs. And it's hard to check coils since this car has individual coils. The catalytic converter is working properly. IT has a new fuel injector.

Any advice on this ?

-Ron

wrong sprak plugs, damaged coils, shiftted timing, start with taking it back to who ever tuned it up. If it had no codes previous and now it does then I'd start there!

My car had check engine light before it was tuned up. I checked my car with my own scanner tool and since it said multiple misfire, I took my car to the mechanic shop to tune it up. The problem is now that they don't do check engine lights.

They aren't mechanics if they don't do check engine lights. They are guys with tools and believe me it's not the same. Go look for some more qualified and likely more expensive "professional" help then what you've been seeking to this point. If you own an Infinitti then you likely can afford better service then what you got there!

Check vacuum, look for vacuum leaks, exhaust blockage, fuel pressure consistancy, O2 sensors... clean the electrical connectors of the cam sensor and crank sensor and the main ECU of engine oil and click them back together dry. Plugs/wires... sometimes the aftermarket items cause problems, might require OEM parts. EGR can have issues but that should set a separate code. I'm not hitting all the areas but this should get you going.

Check external timing belt if it has one!!!! Worn tensioner or bad timing belt will allow the valve train to vary it's timing enough during acceleration to set a misfire code... a good dealer in my area just snuffed this one out for me on a late 90's 2.0L SOHC Dodge engine. He did all the electrical tests and couldn't find a thing and had to dig deeper.

Good luck... these can be tough!
