I have 02 silverado 4.3L with 120K

I got code P0341 camshaft position sensor. The truck was missing sometime in 4-5th gear. I replace the camshaft sensor inside the distributor, under the cap and rotor. The problem with the truck missing is fixed, but the SES light is still on and giving the same code P0341. I reset it with my programmer and it came back on, I unplugged the battery and it came back on?

My question is after replacing the sensor and fixing the problem, why does the code still come back up?

Thanks,
Jason
