2002 Mazda 626 LV, 2.5L V6, AT, 185,000 miles

OK, My car has been shaking the past couple days and as I was going up a hill when the CEL started flashing.

I checked the codes, P0133 , P1131, P0305

My CEL light came on about 6 months ago. I had P0133 & P1131. My dealership took it to a shop and had the O2 sensor replaced. It still didn't solve the problem. A month later I went in for them to fix it again. Nothing. So, I didn't go back to them because I don't like the shop even though my dealership paid for it.

So, I've been driving for a few months with the CEL always on and never had problems until a few days ago when I started noticing the shaking, like I noticed 6 months ago. And then tonight it flashed.

So, I searched on here and found out some more stuff that I noticed with my car.

-Someone mentioned "pinging" e.g. it sounds like rocks in a tin can when you start the car for a few seconds. I think he said it could be the EGR valve. Another poster said it could be the knock sensor.

-I also know from previous experience with these codes to do stuff like clean the MAF sensor, EGR valve, inspect wires, etc. The thing is I really don't know how to locate these parts. The auto technology dept. at my college has Mitchell 1 but campus isn't open until Monday.

Can someone please make some suggestions on what I should do, where to locate these components(O2 sensors, EGR valve, MAF sensor, knock sensor etc)? Thanks. My car specs are above.

I believe I located the new O2 Sensor, in front, because its the cleanest looking thing lol

If you're having trouble locating the components and you don't have a manual, I suggest you wait until Monday.

When was the last time it was tuned up?

Make sure you use good quality parts.

Ok. I heard the Haynes Manual for the 626/mx-6/probe is crap. I'll just use the Mitchell OnDemand at school.

A fellow user was kind enough to show me where the o2 sensor in question is and the location of each cylinder.

I've had the car since January 2007 so 11 months. When I got it it had 160K miles. So 25K miles in 11 months yikes, time for a tune up

My car has NGK plugs and wires, which are the best for this model I hear.

thanks mohawk
