I have a 97 ford thunderbird. 4.6 V8 auto trans. I have the trouble codes P0125 P0172 P0175. The car runs fine at normal operating speeds. But when i step fairly hard on the gas pedal the engine cuts out till i let off. It even does it when i try to pass someone on the highway. car idles fine. It has a regular paper type air filter, stock engine, no mods. 100,000 miles. I dont know how well its been mantained as i just bought the car about 3 weeks ago. Is there anything i should check first. According to my code reader the MAF may not been working correctly it senses no air flow. Should i try cleaning it or just get a new one. thanks

You can try cleaning the MAF first and see how the vehicle operates.

Check temperature sensor and its circuit...this explaines why the vehicle is running rich.

Sounds like you need a new temp sensor.

Good luck and keep us posted.
