Code P0306 indicated misfire on Cylinder 6.
A little background on this vehicle.
Just bought it from my neighbor who bought it new and only has 60,703 miles. Runs absolutely fine. This vehicle has not been run for 2 years. It just sat in her garage.
When I tried starting the vehicle it would turn over but would not fire. I sprayed a little Starter fluid in it and it started up fine. Ran rough for a very few second then leveled out. The light came on while I was driving it across the street to my house.

What do you think is the most logical problem. I have been reading your forum concerning other posts related to this code. I am not a mechanic by a long shot.
I thought I would check out the #6 cylinder spark plug but man it is way on the back of the engine. I could not be so lucky for it to be on the front so I could remove and check it out.

I am thinking that since it set up for 2 years it most likely is a plug problem, I hope.

Thanks

if they are original then it's quite likely an ignition wire is bad although after sitting for that long an injector could be gummed up as well! I'd start with a tune-up using premium quality ign wires and the correct AC delco plugs and try a fuel system treatment or cleaner if the code persists!
Those cars are known for injector problems!

Thanks for this information. I will try the injector cleaner first before replacing the wires and plugs. If code comes back after I have ran the cleaner for a while and reset the codes, then I will replace the wires with GM band wires and manufactured recommended plugs.

I will post the results.

I noteced that Auto Zone has Prestone Fuel System Cleaner for about 6.88 with a rebate of full purchase price.

Is that a good cleaner? If not what do you reccommend as I know there are a lot of this type product on the market?

replace the plugs and wires anyway! they're likley junk, they're almost 10 yrs old! Seafoam is supposed to be an excellent fuel additive!
