Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and hope to find some help.
I have a Ford 2002 explorer with a 4.0L. I had a P1400 code, took the DPFE sensor out to change it. BUT while it was disconnected, started the truck...
It ran about 10 sec. before I stopped it. Then I connected the sensor back, but had a hard time starting the truck again. Result: all those new codes (see title). They are all high input code, did I destroyed all these sensors by starting it witout the DPFE :?
Thanks
NB: the P1400 code disapeared...

highly unlikely! any blown fuses? did you get the correct dpfe?
Have you tried to clear the codes! Is the MAF and snorkel installed correctly? anything else left unplugged?

What fuse could it be?
I put back the same DPFE, and did not touch anything else.
And yes I did clear the codes, a couple of times. Went for a ride, and I can see that these sensors are really not doing there job (idle is too high, tranmission shifting badly, no sign of life from the water temp gauge, and even the OD light is continuously flashing...
After reading a bit here and there I am now suspicious of the ECM, what do you think?

doubtful! Where did you purchase the dpfe? I've heard of similar things happening when the dpfe shorts together!

Still haven't purchased any! I'm just about to go out to buy one this morning. Yesterday, I just put back the old one in :?
If it this the case (let's pretend it shorted while I took it out), will it correct everything just to replace it?
Thanks

Oh okay well if your old one is shortted then it can throw everything off!
go to the dealer, buy a new one and put it in then clear all the codes and see what if any dtcs returns. Don't overanalyze it and price a pcm yet!

I think you are right, the DPFE is shorted! Did a test today, simply pulled out the plug of the DPFE, cleared the codes and then started the engine. Everything is back to normal (it is running just fine), not a single code came back! :D
So tomorrow I am out to dealership for a new DPFE.
Thanks
