I have a 1999 kia sportage that has the check engine light on and that i scanned and it shows the P0422 and P0116 codes. sometimes when im driving it i feels like it wont shift gears, and also sometimes when im driving it i give it gas and like it wont go and all of the sudden it just kinda takes off. Any help or advice anyone??

There was a recall on the Kias because of corrosion in the main connector behind the intake manifold. I caused 4 or 5 codes to pop up intermittently. Check that connector for corrosion, etc. If that seems okay, then you'l have to check the converter and coolant tempproblem separately. Did the light illuminate all at once or has it been on and off for months/years?

Well, then that's different. Inthat case, you'll likely have a failing converter and a coolant temp sensor diagnosis to do.
