Can anyone help me with this one. I know it is a O2 sensor, but the problem that I am having is that my 1999 chevy pickup has 3.

Two are pre and one is post. and the it is only throwing this one code.
I guess my question is, Is there a way to test to see which O2 sensor is bad and is throwing the code?

Rory

P0134 = O2 Sensor CKT No Activity (Bank 1 Sensor 1).

It's the pre-cat sensor on Bank 1 (Driver's side)

If you have a scanner (not just a code reader) you can monitor the O2s either digitally or graphically (better).

Again check wiring and connections (visually and check for voltage and ground) before condemning the sensor.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I went under the van this morning because when I was shopping for the 02 sensor the auto part store was not sure how many sensor or which one it was. Well I found four (4).

Could you guys give me some help on this one. This is the van with the
P0147 code.

I have not yet checked the voltage but I will. I was trying to save time by finding out which one I need to play with.
Heres the problem. Which one is it.

I have 1 02 sensor coming off of each exhaust pipe just after the exhaust manafold. Then right where the two pipes come into one pipe I have another 02 sensor. All of these are before the cat. Then I have one after the cat.. So wiht this code which one is it?

find cylinder #1 and the 02 in that exhaust manifold will be the one that's popping the dtc! A manual would likley show you or the dealer parts dept!

I check the wires, made sure the fuse was not blown. I then replaced the 02 Sensor. Now a new code is popping up. P0171 Bank 1

The truck is still running rough but not as bad as it was with the bad 02
Sensor. Now it says it is running lean. WHATS NEXT? I tryed adjusting the Distributor but it does not seem to help. Any Ideas?
I forgot to tell you that this one is on my 1 ton Chevy Pickup
with a 5.7 L 1999

Forget fooling around with the distributor!

Disconnect the MAF and see if it runs any better (it'll throw a code, as it should). If it runs better, clean the MAF wires with brake kleen or electronics cleaner. Be careful as those little wires are very fragile!

Also check for vacuum leaks in all vacuum lines, air intake snorkel, throttle body gasket and intake manifold gaskets on Bank 1.

Checking fuel pressure also wouldn't be a bad idea.

Did you get the van fixed yet...I already told you what sensor to check, go back to your original thread concerning the van...combining two vehicles in one thread is confusing us :?

Good luck and keep us posted.

HI ¡

It doesn´t make sense. The previous O2 code that was stored before you change the O2 sensor, does not have relation with the new code ¡¡
Are you sure you were not getting before these new code? Because it sounds confusing. I guess, you were also getting the P0171 before you changed the O2 sensor... ¡¡ Can you remember??
