 Post subject: Getting a P0161 codes

Hello I have a 98 Ford Explorer V6 4.0 SOHC. My check engine light is on and I'm getting a PO 161 code which I look up(O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 2 sensor 2. My question is were is this sensor located. I understand I have 4 O2 sensors.

Bank 2 would be on the driver's side and sensor 2 would be the post catalytic converter sensor(behind or downstream of the catalytic converter but before the muffler)
Yes you should have 4. If you can afford to replace them all, it would be a good idea, as it will save you this same problem 3 more times.

After replacing them be sure there's no fuses blown that may or may not say 02 sensor otherwise even with new 02's the circuit still won't power up!
